Kim's Convenience
Kim's Convenience is a play written by Ins Choi about a family-run, Korean-owned convenience store in Toronto's Regent Park neighbourhood. The production debuted at the Toronto Fringe Festival, securing its slot by winning the festival's New Play Contest. The play sold out its initial seven-show run at the Bathurst Street Theatre and won the Patron's Pick award, which granted an additional sold-out performance. Writer Ins Choi also directed this run and starred as Jung, the protagonist's son.
