Manual Cinema is an American performance collective, design studio, and film and video production company. Founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 2010 by Drew Dir, Sarah Fornace, Ben Kauffman, Julia Miller, and Kyle Vegter, the group creates film and theatre works. Audiences attending a show will see a performance that combines handmade shadow puppetry, vintage overhead projectors, and live feed cameras. The collective utilizes cinematic techniques, sound effects, and live music to construct these works.
