Seussical, also known as Seussical the Musical, is a musical production based on the works of Dr. Seuss. The show's plot draws primarily from Horton Hears a Who!, Gertrude McFuzz, and Horton Hatches the Egg. It features lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, music by Stephen Flaherty, and a story co-written by both. Although its initial Broadway run in 2000 faced negative critical reception and financial losses, the production has since experienced a revival in popularity. It has spawned two US national tours, a West End production, and many school and regional theater adaptations.
