Cherish the Ladies

Cherish the Ladies is an American all-female group that performs Celtic music. Originally starting in January 1985 as a concert series in New York, the band was created by Mick Moloney to showcase female musicians in a male-dominated scene. Named after a traditional Irish jig, the group is led by Joanie Madden, who plays the flute and tin whistle. The other members perform on a wide variety of instruments, delivering a repertoire that features both instrumental tunes and songs.
