Menahan Street Band
Menahan Street Band is an American instrumental band based in Brooklyn, New York, that performs funk and soul music. Formed in 2007, the group was founded by Thomas Brenneck in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. The band features a lineup of musicians from other groups, including Antibalas, El Michels Affair, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, and the Budos Band. Menahan Street Band released their debut album, Make the Road by Walking, in 2008 through Dunham, a sublabel of Daptone Records, and followed it with their release The Crossing in 2012.
