Metal Church

Metal Church is an American heavy metal band formed in 1980. Originally based in San Francisco, California, before relocating to Aberdeen, Washington, the group was briefly known as Shrapnel. Led by guitarist and songwriter Kurdt Vanderhoof, the band became pioneers of the thrash, speed, and power metal genres, and played an integral role in the 1980s Seattle heavy metal scene. Over their career, they have released fourteen studio albums, with their early lyrical themes of conflict and paranoia eventually expanding into political, social, and philosophical commentary.
