U.S. Open Cup
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is a knockout cup competition in men's soccer in the United States. Recognized as the country's oldest ongoing national soccer competition, it was first contested during the 1913–1914 season as the National Challenge Cup, where the Brooklyn Field Club won a trophy donated by Thomas Dewar. In 1999, the United States Soccer Federation renamed the tournament to honor Lamar Hunt, an executive of both the North American Soccer League and Major League Soccer.
