Gianni Schicchi
Gianni Schicchi is a comic opera in one act featuring an Italian libretto based on an incident mentioned in the Divine Comedy. The work serves as the third and final part of a triptych of three one-act operas with contrasting themes, which also includes the tragedy Il tabarro and the solemn, religious, all-female opera Suor Angelica. While originally written to be presented together, this comedy is now frequently staged either alone or alongside short operas by other composers.
