Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a two-part film production serving as the 2010/2011 finale of the Harry Potter film series. Production on the project began in 2009. Directed by David Yates and written by Steve Kloves, the two movies collectively adapt the 2007 novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. The films were produced by Rowling, David Heyman, and David Barron. Although originally planned for release as a single motion picture, Warner Bros. Pictures ultimately divided the production into two parts due to its long running time.
