The Marvelous Wonderettes

The Marvelous Wonderettes is a jukebox musical comedy with a book by Roger Bean. This production pays homage to the high school songleader squads of the 1950s, using pop songs from the 1950s and 1960s to tell its story. The plot follows Springfield High Songleaders Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy, who perform at their senior prom as a last-minute replacement. Singing in four-part harmony, they rally to entertain their classmates. The second act shows the four ten years later at a high school reunion.
