Igor Levit
Igor Levit is a Russian-German pianist and human-rights activist who lives in Berlin. His musical work focuses on the works of Bach, Beethoven, and Liszt. He has also recorded modern pieces, including Dmitri Shostakovich's 24 Preludes and Fugues, Ronald Stevenson's Passacaglia on DSCH, Frederic Rzewski's The People United Will Never Be Defeated!, and Morton Feldman's Palais de Mari. Additionally, Levit is a professor at the Musikhochschule Hannover.
