American Idiot

American Idiot is a sung-through rock musical based on the music of the rock band Green Day. The story centers on three disaffected young men. Two of the men flee a stifling suburban lifestyle and parental restrictions to seek freedom and excitement in the city, while the third remains at home to navigate a relationship with his pregnant girlfriend. Over the course of the show, one character joins the military and is shipped off to war, while another struggles with drugs and experiences lost love.
