Giselle

Giselle is a romantic two-act ballet-pantomime featuring music by Adolphe Adam. The production tells the tragic story of a young peasant girl named Giselle and a disguised nobleman named Albrecht. After they fall in love, Albrecht's true identity is revealed by his rival, Hilarion, causing Giselle to die of heartbreak. Following her death, Giselle is summoned from her grave into the Wilis, a vengeful sisterhood of ghosts of betrayed women led by Queen Myrtha, who target Albrecht by attempting to dance him to death.
