The Imperials
The Imperials, also known as Little Anthony and the Imperials, is an American rhythm and blues, soul, and doo-wop vocal group from New York City. Founded by Clarence Collins in the 1950s, the group was named in part for its lead singer, Jerome Anthony "Little Anthony" Gourdine, who was noted for his high-pitched voice. The original lineup featured Collins, Gourdine, Ernest Wright, Glouster "Nate" Rogers, and Tracy Lord, with Rogers and Lord later replaced by Sammy Strain.
